What to Expect
In our office you will always be cared for as an important and unique individual, listened to, and treated with respect. We take the time to give clear explanations of what is going on, how we may be able to help you, how long it will take, and what it will cost. At all times you will be actively involved in your care with us, helping us to set goals based on what your current state of health may be, the stresses you encounter in your everyday life, and what level of health you want to create.
We are dedicated to lifelong learning, and are continually enhancing our knowledge base through seminars and courses in order to provide you with the most up to date research and technology on health, wellbeing and lifestyle. A large part of our learning is focused on family health, prenatal care and optimizing child development. We consider it a part of our responsibility to the people in our practice and community
to be exceptionally educated in order to offer the highest level of care to every person who walks through our doors.
As you will see, our office caters to families. Our greatest passion lies in working with pregnant women, babies and families as we know how powerful our approach can be, especially when started in these early stages of life.
Your First Visit
Your first visit to The Lifehouse for chiropractic is an opportunity for us to get to know you, your child, or your family. We will spend 45-60 minutes with you on this visit in order to determine how we can best serve you on your journey to health and wellbeing.
Family first visits may take up to 2 hours, depending on the age and number of family members being assessed. This will be determined when you call to book your first visit. As well, family members can be assessed at separate times in order to accommodate you and your schedules.
When you’re ready, here’s what to expect
The Chiropractic Assessment
Evaluating your current situation
Your chiropractic assessment consists of a thorough assessment of your spine and nervous system. This includes a postural assessment, full body ranges of motion, testing of balance and coordination, a hands-on assessment of your spine including a cranial assessment, as well as a computerized scan. These scans are easy, painless and non-invasive, using state of the art computerized technology and manual assessments that take readings of your body.
These computerized scans reflect three separate and distinct measurements that help Dr. Amy evaluate your neurospinal health.
All you have to do is sit still for a few moments while we do the scans along your spine. (Whether these are done on children, and at what age depends on individual factors for each child)
Our office’s technology helps us to assess the health of your spine and nervous system whether you have symptoms or not. This technology adapts for any age, including newborns and children. Most people leave our office stating that ‘this was the most thorough assessment I have ever had!’.
After your assessment, it’s time to wrap up!
What Comes Next?
Your Second Appointment
Your first visit is all about gathering information. The second appointment, your Chiropractic Report, is all about making a plan. During this second appointment, Dr. Amy will simply and thoroughly explain the results of your assessment. She will give clear explanations about what’s going on, how we may be able to help you, how long it will take, and what it will cost.
At all times, you will be actively involved in your care with us. You will help us to set goals based on your current state of health, your everyday stresses, and the level of health you want to create. After all of your questions have been answered, you will receive your first adjustment.
How you decide to use chiropractic care in your life is always up to you. If you are ready to make the commitment to yourself, your life, and your wellbeing, you are in the right place!
How long will my first visit take?
First visits for individuals take about 45-60 minutes. Family first visits may take up to 2 hours, depending on ages and the number of people. The appointment length will be estimated when you book the first session. Additionally, family members can be assigned separate times to accommodate schedules.
Why are the initial forms important?
Chiropractic care is about much more than just pain and symptoms. These forms help Dr. Amy understand as much about you, your life, and everyday stresses. Many of today’s health stresses are from a buildup of stress over a lifetime. The info you provide is vitally important for us to guide you to reach your own health goals.
How do children usually react to their chiropractic assessment
Many babies sleep through their assessments, and young kids feel like it’s a game! Regardless of age, every assessment is completed within your personal comfort levels.
Do I have to fill out the initial forms ahead of time?
